■Nihombashi / Kirin (giraffe) statue

< Overview >

In the Edo period General Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu set up five highways to connect Edo and local cities.

The starting point of that five highway is here Nihombashi.

This surrounding area has developed since the early Edo period, centered on bridges, it was just the center of Edo.

Currently it is a business district with many Tokyo Stock Exchange and numerous securities companies.

And there are many historical buildings such as the Bank of Japan head office, Mitsukoshi main store, Mitsui main building, Takashimaya Tokyo store and so on.

On the wings of Kirin Statue, the meaning "Fly away from here" is put in from Nihombashi which is the starting point of Japan's road. ※Important Cultural Property < Sculpture > Oasao Wanatabe (1874 - 1952) < Address > 1-1-1 Muromachi, Nihombashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo

■My recommendation local food

< Yabu-kyu > If you come around here, please go to Soba restaurant "Yabu-kyu".

It is famous as an old restaurant in Nihombashi. Yabu-kyu’s special is "Curry Nanban". (Soba noodles in a curry-flavored soup)

You might think 「What⁉︎ Soba in a curry?」.

Please don’t worry. It is super delicious‼︎

By combining "dashi" (Japanese fish broth) with spicy curry, It will play the symphony of taste! By the way, because you can choose hotness, please try ordering in Japanese(^^)

[English : Japanese] ① normal : 普通 (hu-tuu) ② hot : 辛口 (kara-kuchi) ③ very hot : 大辛口 (oh-kara-kuchi) ④ super hot : 激辛口 (geki-kara-kuchi ) And you can choose meat from pork and chicken. My recommendation is kara-kuchi and pork!

Have a nice trip!(^^)
