■ Imperial Palace (1457) / Sakuradamon Gate (1636) < Overview >

Sakuradamon ( Sakurada-mon) Gate is one of the gates built at inner moat of Edo Castle (Present Imperial Palace)

This gate is adopted "桝形城門"(Togata castle gate type) where there is a square area in the middle between the first gate and the second gate.

As a result of the construction of the two gates, even if an enemy could managed to enter the square area enclosure through the first gate, they were prevented from entering the castle ground by the second gate, and were vulnerable to attack in the square area.

■My recommendation local food

< Baden-Baden > If you come around here, please go to German beer hall "Baden-Baden".

Under the elevated rail tracks of Yurakucho has delicious restaurant section. "Baden-Baden" is a famous long standing beer hall in this district. This via hole can be enjoyed Munich's "Hofbrauhaus" barrel draft beer in the authentic German beer hole mug(^^)

German home dishes here is delicious, I especially recommend Special Schweinshaxe! This goes great with beer! I'm asking out of curiosity... German cuisine that Japanese people think is delicious, is it delicious for Germans? I hope to hear from you soon haha. Gute Reise!(^^)
